MSIL Tier-2 Vendor Upgradation Program

PROGRAM METHODOLOGY

TIER-2 VENDOR UP-GRADATION

The objective of the program is to deploy the supplier's system in such a way that it can make a zero-defect product at a nominal cost by strengthening the skill set of the working people of Tier 2 vendor partners and to prepare them for achieving global standard of manufacturing by considering the safety of man & machine at their manufacturing location. Ensuring the traceability of the product made by the Tier-2 vendor partner.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROGRAM

The implementation of the program is being done at the manufacturing location with the assistance of the Maruti Suzuki Center for Excellence. The program is based on 19 important parameters which holistically covers the entire manufacturing activity across all type of manufacturing industry. The activity is designed to align the manufacturing systems as per MSIL standard for Tier 2 vendors to timely complete new developments of the product by adhering to the global manufacturing standards. As the change management plays a very crucial role in manufacturing industry, major focus is given on tracking of 4M change to assure the product quality, and delivery of a defect-free product to the customer. To upgrade the skill set of minimally educated workers by providing practical and behavioral training. Enhance the capability of the vendor team for the best utilization of Quality tools as well as analyzing the fundamental causes to reduce their hidden losses caused by Breakdowns and Product Quality issues. Thus establish customer confidence by delivering a ''Zero Defect'' Product to minimize the internal Quality issues by maintaining adequate product handling, developing the manufacturing expertise among people, and maintaining the comfort level of 5S on the shop floor. To gain strength by developing the skilled manpower through practical and behavioral training by MACE.
